Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has conducted a discussion forum on 9th April 2020.
The purpose of the forum is Tourism Industry Marketeers to discuss the COVID-19 situation in Maldives.
The objective of this forum was to discuss the repercussion of the pandemic to the Maldives tourism industry and to share ideas on overcoming the challenges faced by industry and agreed on sending out mutual destination messages.
During the forum a presentation was given by MMPRC on adaptation of the marketing strategies with a case study on the current activities being carried out. Discussions were opened for the Industry partners to exchange ideas on new strategies to promote the destination during this crisis.
28 industry experts from 17 tourism companies and associations took part in this session to share their opinion and knowledge to mitigate the damages from Covid19 Pandemic and jointly work together in marketing the destination.
Social distancing strategy was practiced during the session by keeping the layout of the seats 3-6 feet apart.
MMPRC will continue to closely monitor the situation and are currently focusing on promoting the destination on digital platforms and will revise marketing efforts to double up the efficient recovery from the crisis.
