Seasoned hospitality leader, Surath Wickremasinghe, brings 16 years of global expertise to the Maldivian resort.



Jumeirah Olhahali Island is pleased to announce the appointment of Surath Wickremasinghe as its new Director of Food & Beverage. With over 16 years of experience in luxury hospitality, Surath joins the all-villa resort following key roles with respected international brands, including Marriott, Hilton, Fairmont, Mövenpick, and Shangri- La. Throughout his career, he has cultivated a deep expertise in refning guest experiences and driving operational excellence.
At Jumeirah Olhahali Island, he will oversee culinary operations across six distinctive venues, from the Japanese-Peruvian fusion at Kayto to the Mediterranean-inspired beachside dining of Shimmers, and the globally curated menus at Glow. Surath will lead the development of bespoke dining experiences such as private sandbank dinners and interactive masterclasses, while collaborating with the culinary team to refine the resort’s award-winning offerings. He also brings a strong focus on beverage programming, with plans to enrich the resort’s mixology experiences in line with the island’s relaxed yet elegant spirit.
