Sun Siyam Iru Fushi has announced the appointment of Julia Marimootoo as Public Relations and Communications Manager, joining the resort at a pivotal moment in its evolution within Sun Siyam’s Luxury Collection portfolio. As the property advances its refined positioning, she will lead the articulation of its renewed identity, shaping a narrative that reflects both its physical transformation and evolving guest experience.
In her role, Marimootoo will oversee the strategic development of the resort’s communications platform, ensuring that its updated brand story resonates across international markets. Her focus will be on presenting Sun Siyam Iru Fushi not simply as a destination, but as a considered expression of premium island hospitality, defined by contemporary design, curated experiences and attentive service.
A key aspect of her strategy involves communicating the resort’s recent developments. These include updates to villa designs, interiors and dining venues, as well as the introduction of a 24-hour premium all-inclusive dine-around concept. This offering is intended to provide a broad and accessible range of dining options throughout the day.
Working closely with operational teams, she will support the implementation of the brand vision through guest-facing experiences. With a background in human sciences and institutional communications, Marimootoo brings an analytical perspective to guest experience, with particular attention to service delivery and guest expectations.
In her role, she will lead the resort’s integrated public relations and communications strategy, collaborating with Sun Siyam’s global PR agency network to strengthen international visibility, maintain consistency in positioning and communicate the resort’s evolving narrative within the Luxury Collection portfolio.
Marimootoo stated that the focus is not only on updating the resort’s offerings but also on aligning the overall guest experience with the expectations of modern travellers. She noted that her approach centres on conveying the core character of Sun Siyam Iru Fushi while positioning it within the contemporary luxury segment.
Claudia Klingbeil, Director of Public Relations and Communications at Sun Siyam, commented that Marimootoo joins at an important stage for the resort, adding that her experience in brand communication will support its continued development within the portfolio.
Through this appointment, the resort aims to further define its position within the Maldivian hospitality sector, with continued emphasis on island lifestyle, local heritage, innovation and responsible practices.
