With over 13 years of dedicated experience in the tourism and hospitality sector, Shizmee has carved a name for himself as a driving force behind smooth guest experiences, particularly in the often-overlooked but crucial realm of transport and logistics.
Before stepping into his current role, Shizmee joined Canareef as the Assistant Reservations Manager, where he played a key role in streamlining booking processes, handling guest inquiries with care, coordinating with travel agents, and ensuring seamless reservation flows. His attention to detail, strong communication skills, and guest-centric mindset helped elevate the reservation team’s service standards, contributing significantly to the pre-arrival guest experience.
Shizmee’s professional journey has taken him through some of the most renowned resorts in the Maldives. He has contributed to properties under Centara, Anantara, Robinson Club, and Outrigger, with responsibilities ranging from reservations and transport coordination to guest services and front office supervision. His time at Robinson Club Noonu and Robinson Club Maldives notably allowed him to fine-tune his logistical and guest-handling abilities in luxury environments.
Now, at Canareef, Shizmee brings not just his wealth of experience but a clear vision for the future. His goal is to transform the guest transportation experience through smart, technology-driven solutions that are both efficient and guest-friendly. Initiatives such as a digital buggy request system, the revamp of driver licensing protocols, and critical infrastructure upgrades are already underway under his leadership. These improvements aim to streamline internal mobility and ensure every guest movement within the resort is effortless and enjoyable.
Throughout his career, Shizmee has successfully led the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) across various departments and introduced essential safety measures for both buggy and marine transport systems. One of his standout achievements has been the development and rollout of an internal licensing program to professionally certify vehicle operators within the resort—an initiative that reflects his commitment to safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
