With over 15 years of professional experience in the IT industry, Shirhaan brings a wealth of knowledge in fiber optic infrastructure, IPTV, CCTV, PABX systems, and hospitality technology platforms such as Opera PMS, Micros POS, Symphony, and Material Control. His journey began with a deep passion for solving complex technical challenges and continually seeking better, more efficient solutions.
Shirhaan’s career spans across diverse environments, from government offices to resorts. His early years working as an Assistant Computer Technician at the Secretariat of Addu City Council grounded him in building reliable systems, managing essential network operations, and adhering to structured processes critical for public services. Transitioning into the hospitality sector brought a fresh and dynamic pace where guest satisfaction and technology innovation go hand in hand.
This blend of discipline and creativity allows Shirhaan to adopt a balanced approach — combining the stability of government IT management with the agility required in hospitality technology. His tenure at South Palm Resort Maldives as IT Manager and Assistant IT Manager further enriched his expertise, setting the stage for his current role at Canareef.
At Canareef Resort Maldives, Shirhaan envisions a modernized IT infrastructure that supports both staff and guests seamlessly. He is committed to upgrading digital systems, enhancing connectivity, and integrating smart automation to create an environment where technology quietly enhances the guest experience while empowering the resort’s teams.
Among his notable achievements, Shirhaan successfully led the implementation of a resort wide Fiber To The Home (FTTH) network, boosting internet speed and reliability across the property. He also developed a custom IPTV client application for in-room TVs, significantly improving guest entertainment satisfaction.
Beyond his professional role, Shirhaan gives back as a visiting lecturer at Maldives National University, sharing valuable real-world IT insights with students preparing for careers in technology — a role he cherishes for both its impact and continual learning.
Holding certifications including CompTIA A+, Network+, Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT), and degree in Information Technology from Maldives National University, Shirhaan combines formal education with hands-on expertise.
