Grand Park Kodhipparu, Maldives has introduced “Connected Island Luxury”, a revised brand positioning intended to reflect evolving travel preferences among international guests.
The concept centres on two curated experience pathways, “Connect to Self” and “Connect to Others”, which are designed to complement accommodation stays with structured experiences. These can be added at the time of booking or arranged during a stay, with integrated itineraries coordinated across the resort’s departments.
The initiative responds to broader trends in travel behaviour, including increased demand for wellbeing-focused breaks, time spent with family and companions, and a preference for more immersive and experience-led holidays. It also reflects growing interest in sustainability and more purposeful forms of travel. The positioning shifts the emphasis away from facilities alone towards experiences linked to wellbeing, connection and the natural environment.
“Connect to Self” focuses on individual wellbeing and rest. It includes activities such as yoga sessions, snorkelling lessons on the house reef, spa treatments and watersports, alongside wellness-oriented dining options. The concept is intended to provide a structured but flexible approach to relaxation and recovery during a stay.
“Connect to Others” is aimed at couples, families and groups, with experiences designed around shared activities. These include guided lagoon excursions, private beach cinema screenings, culinary experiences and snorkelling activities with a focus on marine education. Bespoke experiences for occasions such as anniversaries and proposals are also available. A dedicated Lifestyle Host coordinates the arrangements across different departments, including spa, dining and watersports teams.
According to the resort’s management, the approach forms part of a wider repositioning strategy to align the property more closely with experience-led travel. It is intended to provide clearer differentiation within the Maldives hospitality market, where a range of similar island resorts operate.
The resort’s general manager, who has overseen operations since its opening in 2017, described the development as an evolution towards more structured guest experiences, with a focus on how stays are designed and delivered rather than only the facilities available.
The “Connected Island Luxury” experiences are available as optional enhancements at the time of booking or during a stay, with bundled pricing structures offered depending on how and when they are purchased.
