Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ananthapuri Hospitals and Research Institute in Trivandrum, India. The agreement is intended to improve access to healthcare services for passengers travelling abroad for medical treatment.
India remains a common destination for Maldivians seeking specialised care, with Trivandrum recognised as a key regional healthcare centre due to its proximity to the Maldives and the availability of advanced medical facilities. Under this arrangement, passengers travelling with Maldivian to Trivandrum will have access to more coordinated medical support services upon arrival.
As part of the collaboration, passengers may receive certain concessions at Ananthapuri Hospitals, including discounted rates on outpatient and inpatient treatments, reduced prices on health check-up packages, and discounts on laboratory and radiology services. The hospital will also provide a complimentary ambulance transfer from Trivandrum International Airport.
In addition, a dedicated customer care desk will be established to assist with appointments, medical coordination, and general patient support. Additional services, such as language assistance, will be available for elderly and critically ill patients.
These services are available to passengers travelling on Maldivian flights to Trivandrum. Further information can be obtained by contacting either Maldivian or Ananthapuri Hospitals.
The agreement forms part of the airline’s broader efforts to expand passenger services beyond transport, including support related to health and wellbeing.
