A media team from renowned magazines and publications circulated in the Ukrainian market has arrived in the Maldives for a familiarization tripThe media team which includes Editors and Chief Editors from Harper’s Bazaar Ukraine, Wedding Magazine Ukraine, Marie Claire Ukraine and Total Escape Ukraine will be in the country from 19th to 25th September.These magazines which are highly popular among affluent audiences in Ukraine publish print and online daily, monthly, quarterly and annual publications, which are circulated to hundreds of thousands of readers. Thus, this familiarisation trip is expected to generate huge coverage, highlighting Maldives as one of the safest holiday destinations in the world.The media team from Ukraine will be hosted in two properties, Kandima Maldives and LUX* South Ari Atoll. During their stay, they will get to enjoy the world renowned Maldivian hospitality and indulge in eccentric, luxurious and adventurous experiences. The teams will try out spa and wellness treatments, discover cuisines from across the globe, get adventurous with exciting varieties of watersports activities, dive and snorkel to witness first hand, the rich marine life of the Maldives.
Visit Maldives has organized the trip as part of its efforts to increase Maldives’ popularity and to promote the destination as a safe haven for Ukrainian travelers. It also aims to increase engagement with tourists from the market, offering the latest information of the destination and the stringent safety measures in place at resorts, hotels, guesthouses and liveaboards.This is the first FAM trip activity held for the Ukrainian market by Visit Maldives this year. Visit Maldives also took part in the Deluxe Travel Market (Russia and CIS) event and plan to participate in Ukraine International Travel Market to be held in October as well as conduct a webinar for Russia & CIS later this year.Ukraine is the fifth top source market to the Maldives, with arrival figures growing exponentially since border reopening last year. So far this year Maldives has welcomed 732,896 tourists, with Ukraine contributing 3.7% of the total arrivals. By August 26th Maldives welcomed 26,920 tourists from Ukraine.Visit Maldives aims to keep the momentum of Maldives as a preferred destination amongst all source markets and new emerging markets, with focused marketing for different segments and groups of travelers.
