Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/ Visit Maldives) has launched the “Discover Maldives” webinar series, a global initiative aimed at strengthening destination presence and engaging travel trade professionals worldwide. The webinar series, providing valuable insights into the diverse tourism offerings of the breathtaking Maldives, was initiated yesterday with the webinar for the French market. Each webinar targets approximately 60-80 travel professionals and trade media and is conducted in localised languages to ensure effective communication with travel agents and tour operators.
Featuring informative presentations by industry partners, these sessions provide valuable insights into the destination’s unique features, experiences, and offerings. The first webinar session, held on 21st August 2024, highlighted the Maldives’ allure as a premier travel destination for visitors from France and other French-speaking nations. Renowned properties such as Adaaran Resorts & Heritance Aarah, Angsana Velavaru, and Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau participated in the first session with Visit Maldives, sharing their unique products, services, and experiences.
The Discover Maldives webinar series seeks to maintain and increase the number of tourist arrivals from key and emerging markets. MMPRC aims to solidify Maldives’ position as a top-of-mind destination for global travellers by providing valuable information and reinforcing strong partnerships with travel trade professionals. Another prominent objective of the webinar series is to highlight our diverse tourism products and variety of experiences available in our destination, attracting travellers with different preferences and interests.
The Maldives has witnessed significant growth in tourist arrivals from various key markets over the past 8 months of this year. Our top markets for the year are currently China, Russia, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, India, the United States, France, Spain, and Switzerland. The “Discover Maldives” webinar series aims to further strengthen the destination presence and attract more visitors from these regions while simultaneously creating greater affinity for the Sunny Side of Life in new and emerging markets.
