Sun Siyam Group has announced the appointments of Aisha Faiz as Head of the Planning Department and Ahmed Ibrahim as Director of Human Resources and Talent Development, as part of ongoing changes to its internal leadership structure.
Aisha Faiz assumes responsibility for the Planning Department, where she will oversee its strategic direction and day-to-day operations. Her role includes ensuring coordination across planning functions and maintaining oversight of performance and resource management. She brings more than 20 years of experience in finance and business, including work in procurement, logistics, and operations.
She will also continue in her existing role as Chief Operating Officer, retaining oversight of the Purchasing Department. Her academic background includes a Business Management degree from Marymount Manhattan College and an MBA from Edith Cowan University. She has previously spent over a decade in Singapore managing her own business ventures and has been involved with the group since its early stages.
Ahmed Ibrahim has been promoted following his tenure as Director of Training and Development, a position he has held since March 2025. In that role, he was involved in delivering training programmes and contributing to staff development initiatives across the organisation.
In his new position, he will oversee human resources and talent development functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and organisational development. He has over 20 years of experience in the HR field.
Ahmed holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Westminster and a Bachelor’s degree from La Trobe University. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and serves as President and Co-Founder of the Maldives Association of HR Professionals.
According to Chief Executive Officer Deepak Booneady, the appointments reflect a focus on developing leadership from within the organisation.
The changes form part of a broader effort to refine the group’s leadership structure as it continues its operations.
