Visit Maldives, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade (MEDTT), is showcasing the Sunny Side of Life at the 10th China-South Asia Expo (CSAE) 2026, taking place from 11 to 16 June at the Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China.
Through this collaboration, MEDTT is facilitating the participation of Maldivian businesses at the expo, supporting their efforts to promote local products, services and experiences. The Maldives delegation includes representatives from MEDTT, alongside a diverse range of Maldivian exhibitors, including MIFCO, Authentic Maldives, LoveMe, Anbalange, Arena Maldives and Viva Trips.
As one of the region’s largest international trade and consumer exhibitions, the event provides a valuable platform for the Maldives to connect with travellers, industry stakeholders and media from China and across South Asia.
Throughout the expo, Visit Maldives is promoting the destination’s diverse tourism offerings to a broad audience, highlighting the Maldives as a destination that caters to a wide range of travellers. Visitors to the Maldives stand can discover luxury resorts, boutique properties, local island experiences, marine adventures and rich cultural offerings that showcase the diversity of the destination.
The participation of Maldivian businesses further enriches the country’s presence at the exhibition. MIFCO showcases premium Maldivian fisheries products, while Authentic Maldives promotes locally made products and cultural experiences. LoveMe presents locally inspired gifts and souvenirs from Fuvahmulah, and Anbalange highlights the craftsmanship and elegance of Maldivian luxury jewellery. Arena Maldives and Viva Trips represent the country’s vibrant tourism sector, promoting travel experiences and services that enhance the visitor journey across the Maldives.
The Maldives pavilion features vibrant destination visuals, immersive branding elements and dedicated visitor engagement areas designed to showcase the country’s unique tourism experiences. Visitors can explore promotional materials available in Mandarin, learn about the Maldives’ diverse travel offerings and participate in interactive activities that highlight the destination’s natural beauty, culture and hospitality. The stand also serves as a platform to strengthen connections with travel trade professionals and regional tourism stakeholders attending the exhibition.
Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives, said, “The China-South Asia Expo provides an excellent opportunity to engage directly with consumers and industry partners from one of our most important regions. Through our presence at the expo, we are not only showcasing the unique experiences that make the Maldives a world-class destination, but also supporting Maldivian businesses in reaching new audiences and expanding their presence in key international markets.”
China remains a strategically important market for the Maldives, and participation in CSAE 2026 forms part of Visit Maldives’ ongoing efforts to maintain strong market presence, expand destination awareness and drive visitor growth from Asia’s key outbound travel markets.
